MERBAU is an exceptionally durable hardwood, selected for its beauty and strength. It is prized for its striking, deep reddish-brown color, bold grain, and remarkable hardness, making it one
of the strongest, most resilient, and dimensionally stable
hardwoods for exterior purposes. It has a very high Janka hardness
rating, making it extremely tough and dent resistant. It rates 5-star
for resistance to rot, insects and termites, fire, and moisture, with
an average lifespan of 40-75 years, far superior to cedar, which has
half the lifespan of Merbau.
